Ok its not a dns issue. It just comletely goes down.
It only took less than an hour between disconnects this time.
This is lame.

Is it dropping train or just authentication? Errors? SNR Margin?

well that doesn't show drops in train... 20db down train is excellent (depending on the speed, but 20 will not cause you issues), 6db up is low but upstream isn't as big of a deal.

so if you can ping out that indicates you are connected (depending on where you are pinging). Try pinging out with large packets (like 1000 bytes) when you can't browse. If you can ping out with 1000 bytes but can't surf and then 15-30 seconds later you've got a software issue on your computer... firewall, anti-virus freaking out, etc.

Well it went down from 9pm to 9am this morning. Hopefully
they fixed the small outages as well. If not I'll keep
calling them. Turns out it is their problem at the dslam. Funny how I turn in my comcast modem the day I lose total connection with qwest. At least comcast never lost total connection like this. Just my luck.
