The URL is legitimate to download MSN IM. Adding someone to your contact list causes no harm other than the fact that they can get your email address. Want to get rid of him, add him to the blacklist and he'll never be heard from again. You can send/receive files but the transfer doesn't start automatically, you still have to accept the file.
Not sure what this spam is after other than harvesting email addresses. Or maybe it's "I need a friend" spam. Out of the 1 million messages he sends out he hoping 10 will be his friend.
I added him to my contact list, just waiting for him to accept me as a friend...
