 | [SunRocket] Sunrocket Forwarding Problem Is anyone else having problems with their call forwarding (simple, group AND find me) with sunrocket? When I forward to within my own area code, and someone calls me, the call connects (IE: Phone stops ringing) but the voice path is not complete. Normally the calling party can NOT hear me, however I can hear them (I usually hear something like.... "Ahhhhh, the ringing stopped, but no one answered", but they can't hear me.... Oddly enough, if the calling party blocks their caller ID (OR if they have an unpublished/private number) the call goes through just fine (voice in both directions). I've had a repair ticket in for about 2 weeks now. Sunrocket has acknowledged the problem but given no date on an expected fix. |

 | reply to Sunrocket forwardin I've been having a similar problem.... |
|
 | reply to Sunrocket forwardin doesnt work here either. fwd to a cell phone, and the caller just hears endless ringing, while here, the SR phone never rings, nor does the cell phone.
when fwd'ed to a landline, the destination landline rings, but then when answered, neither party can hear one another. |

 | reply to Sunrocket forwardin I lost SunRocket call forwarding (all types) in early December and have been calling SR on regular basis to find out why this happened and when it is coming back---if ever. It in now Jan 5 and I have had no service for a month. The thing that really bothers me is that no one offers an explanation or any progress reports. I am in Michigan and wondering if it is geographic. Apparently some people still have call forwarding. Any one know any more about this situation? |

voiploverPremium join:2004-05-28 Portsmouth, NH | "The FIX" again It turned it self off on me last night. Calls were forwarding to my cell up until 9:35 pm, then they just kept ringing on my gizmo.
I logged into my account and turned forwarding OFF, then hit save. Waited a minute or two and turned forwarding back ON. It worked right away.
Now, why do you think that SR wouldn't post this on their site? Do you think that they are so proud of CS that they want to force subscribers to call? Or maybe they like it when I spend my time to post fixes, raising the bar for BBR????
FIX: goto your account at sunrocket.com and turn off call forwarding... Press save.... Wait a few... Turn forwarding back on... Press save... and it should work right away. |

 | Thanks for sharing. I tried that process and still am getting only a one-direction communication when SR forwards VOIP to my cell phone (or any phone not in the SR network). This has become a mystery and I still think it is a geography thing. I was reading another thread where you discussed the CLEC. I am beginning to think it may be related to something like that, or a local billing issue. As I said SR has known about this for over a month, acknowledges it and refuses to talk about it. |

Re: [SunRocket] Sunrocket Forwarding Problem Have you found a solution in the past few weeks? Are you still having this problem? |

Re: "The FIX" again For me, forwarding to a land line seems fine. Forwarding to my Alltel cell number... no voice either direction Chat with tech support at Vonage seems clueless. West Michigan. |

Re: [SunRocket] Sunrocket Forwarding Problem I had a problem yesterday, as in, it didnt' work. I like to make personal long distance calls at my lunch hour from work by calling my local home SR number and forwarding.
Worked fine today. I didn't do anything. Same number, etc.
I didn't dare start a thread for fear of being bashed or being called a troll. |

 | I think there is more than one issue with call forwarding that is going unaddressed by SunRocket. The one that opened this thread is the one that has been out there consistently for some time without any resolution for the people who are experiencing it. In addition to NO solution/resolution, there is NO apparent involvement on the part of SunRocket to resolve it or even discuss it with customers experiencing it. They will, however, acknowledge its existence. Because call-forwarding goes to the destination phone the caller hears the SR customer's phone pick up, but then cannot hear the SR customer's voice. Meanwhile the SR customer hears the caller say things like: "no one there, but it answered". |

2 edits | reply to Sunrocket forwardin i should update that the fwd'ing issue I had above has been fully resolved (Thankfully).
However, I will add that certain functions still don't work 100% properly as they should.
eg. Using Find me fwd'ing: If the last # in my list is my household #, the call will NEVER go to SR voicemail-- My household # will simply ring-- forever.
eg. (and this is probably one of my biggest gripes). I can find NO WAY of dropping the 3rd person I add to a 3-way call-- It just doesn't work when I try to "flash" them 'out-- Which is of course the way 3-way is supposed to (fully) work.
There are others.. Maybe I'll post a new thread and see how many others are afflicted with these and several other more minor (yet annoying) problems. |

 | reply to Sunrocket forwardin Finally SunRocket Engineering contacted me on 1/6. We worked the problem with call forwarding that works in one direction. It was discovered that as long as the initial call is placed to sun rocket from a remote cluster (nowhere near SE Michigan and probably a long distance call if it were land-line) then call forwarding works as expected. If the initial caller is in SE Michigan, where I live, the forwarding feature does NOT allow me to talk back to those who call me---even though I can hear their voices......saying: hello?...hello? So basically, I have NO call forwarding and have not seen any action on the part of SunRocket to solve this since 1/6/06. I do not know the right people.:( I realize I am the little guy and this is not impacting all customers---but what does it take? Life was good before 12/6/05. |
|
 | Well, all is well that ends well. A couple days ago my call forwarding started working. I wasn't notified that there was an official fix, but whatever happened either locally, or at Sun Rocket, has caused my call forwarding to function properly and work locally as well as for long distance type calls. Interestingly, the caller ID feature is also appearing whereas prior to 12/6, the caller ID was always Sun Rocket. |

1 edit | reply to Sunrocket forwardin As per what I said above: ========================= eg. Using Find me fwd'ing: If the last # in my list is my household #, the call will NEVER go to SR voicemail-- My household # will simply ring-- forever. =========================
It seems they have "fixed" this issue too- at least for me. I just notcied now.
My VM does now pickup.
Very good indeed.
I don't know when exactly they did the fix, but interestingly just before I tested this again, I tried to get to the web portal and it was down for "upgrades".
Interesting. |

 | reply to alegory Glad that some are finding solutions out there. I was thrilled a week ago when my call forwarding returned better than ever. Funny thing was, SR never called to tell me it was fixed. I called them to report the improvement and closed the ticket. Yesterday the problem returned and just like before. I could not believe it. Now I am thinking that the local carrier here changed things, fixing it and then destroying it, and not SR. I called SR and reopened the ticket. Apparently SR is not letting the local folks know how to support call forwarding. Can't believe I am only one having this fun. |

 | reply to Sunrocket forwardin Akron, Ohio the forwarding has not worked since early December. Here too it started working about a week ago for 4 days, then, poof, back off again! I experience the once-way-voice problem. I can hear callers when the call has been forwarded, but they can not hear me. I have also noticed that if the calling party has their caller id BLOCKED the call usually goes through just fine. I can forward to "out of my area" (Like Disney World info, for instance) and everything is fine. But if I forward to ANYWHERE near me, same LATA, the voice path is incomplete. I just got another call from LEVEL3 who was, once again, completely clueless, even though I have talked to them more times than I can count on my fingers and toes! They even had me put the Gizmo ahead of router, then behind router, to see if that would help! (What a joke!) And I think the thing I am starting to hate the worst is that I can not understand a word they are saying to me (in their deep accent!) |
