that it is. While I do not hope the guy driving the motorcycle is dead, he if badly injored did deserve it. Because most people on those kind of bikes tend to go to fast, and be dumb about doing it. Simple cause and effect. Sadly that other car got involved. |

| reply to Vamp That's country's emergency services must really suck.
At least 7 minutes went by, and you couldn't even hear sirens at 7:14 of the video.
It looked like a less-populated area, but given the amount of traffic passing by, they could not have been to far from a populated place. -- My site

hmmm. they could have been pretty far out.
1) she t-boned him.
2) he was awfully close to the car for him to have been going 90. he was moving, but probably closer to 60-65.
3) if he'd have been my moto buddy, or even just another cycle rider, i'd have stayed next to him till either the ambulance or coroner came. it's not right just letting him lie there like that, alone. |

Doubtful that 60-65 from a bike would cause that type of damage.. if you look at the roof it is smashed in, that is most likely where the rider hit, which is why he didn't go that far. It could of been a head-on collision type of thing, the car could of swerved which caused him to hit the side.
I am amazed at how the people in the car got injured. -- space for rent |

That looked nasty. I never liked motorcycles myself. I heard too many horror stories from my mother when she was alive about what some of those guys look like after an accident. She worked in a hospital for 30 years. This is one reason. If you thought that was disturbing you'd better not go to ogrish.com then.
Looks like he died, I thought I heard one of the 2 guys say "spirit" when they were checking him out for a heart beat.

I always find it funny when people say "I'll never ride a motorcycle cause I know someone who died in a bike wreck" yet the same people would never give up driving a car when a loved one dies in a car wreck. |

| reply to Vamp A friend of mine owns a Suzuki dealership in town. Hes only owned it for the past two years, but in that time I have seen probably 30 - 40 wrecked bikes . None of the accidents were fatal as far as we knew . Saw most of them coming back in to buy new bikes except one guy. He was going around 70 -75 his estimate when he hit a deer on a rural road. He was wearing full leathers and a helmet which is probably what saved his life. He had lots of broken bones in his upper body but other than that he was ok. Anyway to the point. I have seen some bikes come into the shop with some amazing damage, but I have never seen damage like the bike in the video. I saw numerous car vs bike accidents come in and I never saw damage like in the video. Most of the speed estimates we got from the riders were in the 60 - 80 mph range . So based on the bikes that I have seen I would estimate this poor guys speed close to if not more than 100mph . I am FAR from a crash invistagor though so anyones quess is as good as mine. |

I ride for a living.
I only got about 2 minutes into the video, but it looks like the driver of the car was at fault, in that it appears (based on location of the car, and most damage to the car, as well as the location of the yellow bike) that the car made a left turn in front of the bike.
Darkworlds, stow it. Most bike crashes happen because drivers in "cages" (cars & trucks) don't pay attention to what's going on around them, and so don't see the bike until it's too late. I ride a black & white motorcycle with yellow flashing lights on the front, and I still hear people say "I didn't see you."
One of my co-workers got hit a couple of months ago, totalling the bike. Bike black Honda Goldwing. Yellow and white strobes on the front. He's wearing a safety yellow vest. Woman coming out of a driveway looked right at him, and still made a left turn across him.
It's not usually the biker's fault.

It's not usually the biker's fault. I was riding my bicycle one time in college around sometime during 1997. A day in September I believe , about 3AM coming home from a party.
I probably did have more to drink then the law would allow, so I decided hastily that it was probably better to ride my bike home then to drive. A good decision, but I guess in the end, I should have walked. The area wasn't the best in terms of the crime, but it wasn't the pits either. I just didn't want to get jumped on the way home, as I had a good 2 miles to go. I could do it on my bike in about 5 minutes, cutting through sections I knew, especially with the adrenaline/beer buzz I had. Walking would have taken a good deal longer, since I would have had to stay on heavily traveled roads/sidewalks as to try and avoid getting mugged.
I'm an avid mountain biker, and used to do BMX freestyle as a kid, but I'm not an expert by any means nor would being an expert be an exucse to do anything drunk.
Well, not to bore anyone with the details, but I decided to ride on the sidewalk (illegal in this jurisdiction) going the wrong way on a one-way street. Pedaling like an M.F., I was probably doing a good 25-30mph.
A car coming out of an alley which emptied onto my sidewalk didn't stop for its stop sign that was located just before it entered the sidewalk part. I saw it, but between his lack of stopping and my delayed reactions, it was too late. I don't even remember if I even hit the brakes, but I hit the car - t-boned them really bad right at the right front wheel well, and I flew over the car and through the air about 40 feet, doing at least 2 flips in the air, landing on the sidewalk in between a huge oak tree and a metal fence.
After realizing I was completely uninjured in every aspect, I walked back the distance to the car, amazed how far I went and how I wasn't killed. My bike was wrecked. Bent the frame, front and rear wheels looked like Easter eggs. I looked at the car and it looked like it got into an accident with another car, much less a bicycle. Realzing that the other driver also had too much to drink, we mutually decided to go our own way and pretend it didn't happen.
The point I'm trying to make out of my long story is that sometimes it is the biker's fault.
That being said, this video clip was a bit disturbing. The lifelessness of the biker sort of leads me to believe that he is no longer with us.

I don't feel one bit sorry for bikers that get creamed on the roadway. You know what you're getting into when you buy a bike. I'm so sick of moronic sport bike riders that think it's "cool" to pass in between lanes, do wheelies, cut off cars, and do double or triple the posted limit. I see it all the time. Some of these guys deserve to get wrecked...screw the excuses that people don't see you on the road |

And I'm so sick of moronic teenies who drive their boom box ricers at double or triple the speed limit, weave in and out of traffic, change lanes directly in front of you at a intersection because the lane is empty and they gotta be first one out when the light changes, don't make full stops, etc. Some of those guys desirve to get wrecked.
