support.microsoft.com/de ··· ;q191687Which is odd because the SBC port 25 block should not affect SBC's own servers. You say you haven't merged a Yahoo! account. Have you migrated from a legacy SBC account to an SBC Yahoo! DSL Service account? Your servers are right for non-migrated uses, but your POP3 server is wrong for a migrated account. SMTP servers don't seem to matter; I can still use mail.pacbell.net...for now. But POP3 servers do; once you are migrated, you can't go back to using the old POP3 servers.
Do you use a router, a firewall? With port 25 blocked on my router I get:
The connection to the server has failed.

Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
With port 25 blocked on my firewall I get:

Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800CCC15
The first one looks like your error.
