Re: Yahoo upgrade for existing DSL customers

ok, still not clear if this "upgrade" plan is any different from "Yahoo Premium". I have seen a thread related to "verizon yahoo" but all there was were gripes. And then there was the "Verizon/yahoo $14.95" thread which seems to be for NEW subscribers.

Are all of these totally different packages or simply the same (nasty) thing under different names?

I do have an unrelated free yahoo email account along with membership on various groups - no problems there. Might be best to just stick with this arrangement while keeping my vz account as is.
I can't speak from experience to the Verizon Yahoo! deal. In my experience with SBC Yahoo! DSL Service, the customer has the equivalent of a Yahoo! Plus email account, and a choice of some other Yahoo! Premium goodies. It is possible to merge a free Yahoo! Mail account with an SBC Yahoo! DSL primary, or sub account, but there are some issues related to severing the merger, so that has to be done with some care. It is probably best not to merge a free account unless you know you will be keeping the Verizon Yahoo! association for a long time.

I did not install any of the SBC Yahoo! co-branded software on my computer. It wasn't necessary, and none of what they offered was of interest to me. I would expect the same to be true for any other ISP Yahoo! co-branded service; and there are others, besides Verizon and SBC.
