I go from 10 miles northeast of Boston to 6 miles west of Boston, smack through the center of the city, during rush hour, and my commute is approx. 20 minutes, all between 40-60 mph.
Can any other major city claim that...? I've travelled all over and visited probably all the Top 20 cities in the country, and compared to the rest, we have a pretty much zero traffic problem.
Sure, there were cost overruns and it took about 15 years.. but all in all, I think it was money very well spent.

(note, I'm not picking on Boston here per se, there's so much waste and fraud in government spending it's not worth discussing. The Big Dig is just one of the biggest and most visible boondoggles in history -- this coming from someone who lives near a city that was build on fraud and corruption.)

Guess which 1 is the butt of the joke?
Sure the end results are great, but oh how efficient to the detriment of the rest of the country.
