Re: [ DrTCP] stuck on 1440 and desperately needing a tweak

• Your Tweak Test expired.

Run the test at »www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php and post here what it shows for the following:

MTU:
MSS:
Default Receive Window:
MTU Discovery:
Timestamps
Selective Acknowledgements

That way, we can get some data on your settings.

• Do you have a router? If so make and model.

it seems that the MTU is stuck on 1440 no matter what I do with DR TCP, and the same goes for the MSS. I tried 1500, 1492, and 1480 but the last one seems to give the best results. Very confusing !

I'm also really confused about the RWIN, cause following the calculations my speed drops dramatically, however when I use the number in TCP Optimizer by speedguide, which is 33120, I get better results.

here's the info:
»/tweakr/block:···nXPpppoe

»/speedtests/41···35156522

I'm using Windows XP SP1, and I connect through the xp pppoe

advertised speed from the ISP is 512kbps down/128kpbs up

I'm using a THOMSON 350 speedtouch modem.

Thanks guys.
