| See if the info in This FAQ helps you.
If you read it and still feel you are short, you could visit the Tweaks Forum Here or come back here with additional information like your OS, what modem do you have, are all your telco outlets (that have anything plugged in) protected with filters, do you use a home-run to your network interface or are you running off the house wiring, is this new service for you or an upgrade and if it is an upgrade, what did you have before and how did it perform.
Sorry for the run-on but it's nap time for me. That info will help us help you.
Good Luck -- I only do what the little voices tell me to do so if you really want something... get into my head. |

I just ran it on my 6016 download package and here are my results ---> Last Result: Download Speed: 4831 kbps (603.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 479 kbps (59.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Just want to make sure your transfer rate is 650k and not your Download speed, and if your transfer rate is around 650k then you're doing well...:)... Enjoy... |

| They are in the ballpark... Just want an idea so if things really change you'll know something up...
Looks like SBC speed test is working much better now, they may give a better reading if you want to check... »help.sbcglobal.net/dsl/speedtest/ |

| I think that test is generous. |

| Of course you're going to get better speed from a server that is on the same network...
There's no such thing as a good/bad/generous/not-so-generous speedtest server. If I get crappy speed to a speedtest server in, say, Australia, it does not mean that the server is bad... it means that I'm in Houston and the server is in Australia.
Did you expect to see the same results when testing from servers on different networks? -- AIM | B | irc.removed.us - #dslr | Give me a ring: 718-606-4100 |

| reply to StillLearn I'd love to, except that it's 2-1/2 years old, doesn't reliably test if you don't have a specific JVM installed, and seems to have been forgotten by the folks at Argonne.
The only test that matters is your average throughput over a long time period.
Now, why don't you "believe"? -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |
