said by chudel :Hey - this is interesting. I downgraded from extreme to ultra recently (since I was seldom using the 3.0 bandwidth). That said, I still like to check every day to see if X6 is available in my area. Not that I want to switch to it, but I just like to track the rollout through my state, city, and county. I just checked the upgrade page and now I can only go from Ultra down to lite -- what happened to my option for extreme regular 3.0? You may have been on the boarder line to even get 3.0
After they re-qualified the lines for 6.0 they probably found that you were a little out of distance and took you name out of the database for 3.0 -- A man is not idle because he is absorbed in thought. Thanks, Chris. |

1 edit | reply to chudel Here's an interesting followup. Called Sales today, since with the price reduction, 3.0Meg service is more reasonably affordable -- hey, it's $60/year savings!
After 30 minutes, and six handoffs, a sales rep assured me that all Ultra->Xtreme upgrades have been placed on hold in my area, until my area is ready for X6.0 [even though I did not want to go to 6.0, only 3.0]. Says I should wait and receive an email on the first of the (next) month.
While I am unlikely to go to cable for internet services, situations like this don't really help!
