Re: Paint Shop Pro Tutorial for Avatars

Very nice tutorial. However, I get lost at the last part...
To make it transparent. There is no export>transparent gif.

I'm using PSP7. I'm sure it has it but it is probably called something else or just placed somewhere else. If someone could tell me how to do it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

We should take Osama Bin Ladin and tatoo American Flags all over his body... And glue his butthole shut. Then keep feeding him pizza and hamburgers and coca-cola...

I can tell you how I do it.
Open the image that you want to make transparent.

Click on "Colors" in the menu bar, then "Set Palette Transparency"

This will pop up:

Click "Set the transparency value to palette entry"
and move your cursor over the area that you want to make transparent(in this case the yellow background). You'll notice that your cursor becomes the dropper tool. Click anywhere on the background, and the value will be set. Then just click on OK.
Save the image as a .gif
This is the result:

Another way follows the same rules as in my above tutorial except in PSP7 they renamed it. Instead of "Export" > "Transparent GIF" it is now "Export" > "GIF Optimizer", even though when you click on it its the same exact thing!
