a friend of mine is a Member of Pisexy and he says that rogers has gone so far as to blocking .torrent on some users. Mine are still working.. Rogers CANT Block it. | There is no such thing as free speech on the internet.
The maxim "My network, my rules" apply at every stage because every network segment is a private network and not protected by free speech laws. Remember, that the laws of free speech are there to stop government from restricting our right to free speech. It says absolutely nothing about others inhibiting your right to free speech in areas of their control.
That said, the fate of the .torrent files is probably simply the effect of throttling and dropped packets. The .torrent file has a recognizable signature.
The issue with Telus was not one of violating free speech legislation, but one of denying access to information creating a conflict of interest. |

I have Rogers Extreme and without any great difficulty, was right at my 100 gig limit last month.
I routinely break 500 KB/S total or about 4 mbits, so I don't think I'm being throttled. |

| There are two limits for extreme based on the baserate of what you're paying for extreme. Older customers are on a rate plan based on $44.95 per month (unless they've upgraded) ... they and all other slower services are on 60GB. Newer extreme customers and those who've upgraded are on a rate plan based on $46.95 per month and get a 100GB cap. |
