Thanks for the insight. I will try again with another site in Scarborough (Markham Rd./Sheppard area) where Express is available and check back on your theory with Newshosting. As mentioned earlier, when I was with Rogers's Express and Giganews (two connections), the D/L was at 60KB/s and not 384KB/s results from two different locations (Scarborough at Warden/Finch and Markham at (McCowan/HWY407).  |

When you had express and used the *unpaid* services with giganews that Rogers set up, the limit of 60Kbytes/second was imposed by giganews on the basis of what Rogers was willing to pay for. They paid for a max of 2 32kbytes/sec streams from giganews.
In other words, your speed from the news server is the lesser of your line speed, or the speed from the news server itself. You can't get any more aggregate speed than your actual line speed. |
