| HJT LOG- "error loading E6F1873B.DLL" also popups
After booting up my laptop (Sony Vaio, WinXP SP2) I get the following error message: "Error loading E6F1873B.DLL The Specified module could not be found."
Also, I get a lot of popups. (Though since running so many anti spyware programs and switching to firefox this seems to be much better.)
Programs I've run: AVG AntiVirus AdAware Spybot CWShredder AboutBuster Trojan Hunter
These programs deleted some spyware including cookie trackers and CoolWebSearch. However, no viruses, trojans or other seemingly more serious malware apeared present in the system.
Here's the HJT Log, any help will be greatly appreciated:

--on a side note which is unlrelated to malware: I noticed skimming through the log that I'm running way more processes then I think that I need to be running. For ex. "Sony photo host server". Will this laptop always load these programs and have them running in the background or is there a way I can get the computer to be running less and presumably speed it up? | | ccyruss

That error is an incomplete removal of BrowserAid, which is usually removed by either of those programs if you're using the current versions. »www.doxdesk.com/parasite/BrowserAid.html

| Ok! Thanks. Just wanted to be sure. Both have recent updates FYI. I'm a little surprised they missed the remnants of BrowserAid - it's been around a while
Now that your PC is clean, make sure all programs are running properly and then you'll need to reset your restore point in Windows XP.......why?
One of the best features of Windows ME or XP is the System Restore option, however if a malware infects a computer with this operating system it can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after malware removal.
To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.
(winXP)
1. Turn off System Restore. Go to Start > Run, click on *My Computer*. Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. Check Turn off System Restore. Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Reboot.
3. Turn ON System Restore. Go to Start > Run, click on *My Computer*. Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*. Click Apply, and then click OK.
