Wireless Lingo Router

QUOTE: "I just had a conversation with a Lingo salesperson. He told me that there is no way to switch devices for already existing Lingo lines that are connected to their ATA. My understanding was that they only need to switch the serial numbers arround, but he said that they do not do that. His explanation is that it might cause technical glitches to do it. So if anybody is concidering doing this, please know before you buy the equipment that you wont be able to switch your existing lines to the D-Link device. For al the others wanting to sign up for a new number, in that case you will be able to use your D-Link. Another thing, the salesperson said that I could sign up for a new number and just cancel my numbers related to the ATAs. I do not want to do that, therefore I will stick to the wire clutter."

*** I have had Lingo for about eight months, and I absolutely love it. The call quality has been consistently excellent, and I have saved a ton of money. It's so nice to not have to worry about minutes.

I did not buy the ATA device, because I didn't want to have to pay the disconnection fee if I didn't like it. I have been using the Wired D-Link Lingo Router instead. A few months ago, I had an ISP outage, and when the service went back up, calls could no longer be placed through the router. D-Link tried to diagnosis it through the net, but was unable to determine the problem. I had to send it back for a replacement.

D-Link shipped the replacement which had a different serial number. The Lingo technician I spoke with made the neccessary adjustments so that I could use the new router with my old number.

Perhaps you spoke with someone who wasn't aware it was possible to change the device and keep the same number. It seems if I was able to change my device and keep my same number, you should be able to do the same with the D-Link Wireless Router.

By the way, thanks for that information. I didn't realize they had come out with a wireless version. I had been thinking of hooking up a wireless router to my wired Lingo router, so that would really simplify things.

For me, customer service/tech service has been excellent!
