Info: What is a BDI-6xx, a CDI-6xx, DI-624/xxx?

(adding to FAQ, »D-Link Forum FAQ »What is a BDI-624, a VDI-604, DI-624/xxx, and etcetera?)

A.

These designations, often seen on the bottom label of products, indicates the market for which the hardware is intended.

Some countries use different power adapters for their different types of electrical power. Some countries also have requirements that affect the physical design of the product, or require that the product ship with different firmware, have different testing, or different labeling.

Using the DI-624, for example:
  • BDI-624 For USA
  • CDI-624 For Canada
  • TDI-624 For Taiwan
  • DI-624/CN For China
  • DI-624/ANA North America type power adapter, North America frequency
  • DI-624/BEU UK standard power adapter, EU frequency
  • DI-624/EEU EU standard power adapter, EU frequency
  • DI-624/NEU Australia standard adapter, EU frequency
  • DI-624/ENA EU standard power adapter, North America frequency

A VDI-604 or VDI-624 is a custom version designed especially for Verizon (a US telephone company and FIOS broadband provider)
