Re: [BOINC] How to Optimize Boinc and Seti v5.2.13 Let me caution everyone about using the optimized BOINC client if you are running other projects with the BOINC engine. Unsure if projects other than Seti will like the optimization.
However, just about all of your speed increase comes from the optimized Seti client, which I've been running for quite some time, with great results.
Also, if you are unsure which client to use, run CPU-Z to find out which instruction set (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3) that your particular cpu supports. It's very important to match the optimized client to your cpu, as the optimization comes from using the instruction set built into your cpu.

Paul Does that mean I can just update the seti client without updating the BOINC client? I'm running 2 other projects and would like to not mess with them as much as possible. |
