Semper Fidelis West Virginia. The only place I got a welcome home after Korea was in Wheeling on my way home to Illinois. They sure love their Marines. I have a very soft spot for all of the folks in West Virginia. My heart is broken too. It's a big price to pay for a very tough life. |

I'd just like to add that, taken as a group, people in West Virginia are some of the nicest, most decent, most pleasant, and most helpful that I've run across in the entire US of A.
Some of them aren't terribly well off; some of them do some very dangerous work (which I think we're more dependent on than lots of people seem to recognize). But, when life starts getting a bit tense, these are the people I like to be with.
