[Availability] Need assistance with getting DSL

Hey all, I just moved from Florida to South Carolina and BS was in my hometown in Florida.. I moved to a new subdivision/brand new houses etc in South Carolina and at the moment I cannot get DSL..

I guess there might not be a huge demand for it as most of the people around me arent moved in yet?, theres alot of houses still being built.. is there anyone to talk to to get DSL for my area?..

I know a tech said they had DSL in the area but not in my subdivision ;(.. I thought there might be a way to elevate the DSL to my area :P

Some information that might help, I now live in Aiken, South Carolina.. The subdivision I'm at now is called Talatha Gardens, maybe someone would know something if we are going to get DSL here...

Thanks

Re: [Availability] Need assistance with getting DS

I'm not sure where Talatha Gardens is, but I live in Hopeland Farms in Aiken (off of Banks Mill Road) and we just got DSL a little over a year ago. Currently only get 3.0 (my speeds max out), but hoping they'll make 6.0 available soon.

Much of Aiken has just gotten hooked up in the past 12-18 months, so if it isn't available at your location at the moment, I'm guessing it should be soon.

There's a box fairly close by to you, so I would think it should be available to you - located right off Whiskey Road on Chukker Creek Road (at red light across from Hunter's Glen Subdivision). Put in maybe 2 years ago (one of the first in the area).

I put in some phone numbers of people on Sycamore and Wesson (off of Talatha Church Road) and they already had DSL service. You said you were in a new subdivision so maybe they just haven't updated the database at BellSouth?

they should be able to do an address qualification, but truly, LQS should have been updated when they had to run line out there for phone service.
