If this is in the wrong place I appologize. Just let me know where the question belongs and I will repost.

I am trying to run the Line Quality Test on my DSL line just to check the performance. I set the 5100b to send public IP to the lan side. I have a D-Link 624 rev.c (FW 2.50) connected to the cable from the router at the WAN port. I added the ip addresses listed in the test FAQ to the firewall table, and allowed them to reach the LAN side from the WAN side. I also disabled the "discard ping from WAN side" option.

I got a few failed tests then I got this one: »/quality/nil/1948707

My question is what am I doing wrong? It looks to me that the loss is occuring before my setup, which leads my to believe it's on the at&t(sbc(ameritech)) side, but I just want to make sure I have set things correctly on my end.

I'm resetting everything back to safety mode until I hear what I need to fix.

You're not doing anything wrong that test fails like that quite often. I would recommended running a ping taste from another source like the command prompt. If you're having trouble with your connection, hop on over to the SBC direct forum at »/forum/direct but please read the rules before posting there.

Here are the results: »/quality/nil/1968670 I am not sure where to go next. I tried posting in direct but got some access denied error. Please don't flame me I'm flamable.... =)

Not too difficult. Copy and paste the results. Really if you can't see it. Here's the link...»help.sbcglobal.net/dsl/speedtest/ run the test and post the results....please. Select the nearest to your location and go from there.
