| FVS338 Power Outage Recovery
I have noticed that when the FVS338 experiences a power outage either from the power being out in our area or simply unplugging the router, it does not recover on its on. The TEST LED stays illuminated indefinitely. I have to turn off the power button and then turn it back on for it to recover. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have the latest firmware (V1.6.47) installed. Can anyone test this on their router by unplugging it and plugging it back in? Also, when I turn on my FVS338, the TEST LED stays illuminated for about 45 seconds before it turns off. I am curious as to if this is in line with everyone else. Thanks! |

| My experience with the model is a bit different. At my location we have not had a power outage for some years... If I turn the unit off (which could be a bit different) and then on again the test light comes on for awhile. The unit does quite a bit of internal testing which takes, as you say, something like 45 seconds, maybe longer.
I am using the latest firmware now, but earlier versions seemed to have various problems. The bug that I noticed the most was the unit would after some weeks of on time block out all incoming WAN traffic. A power cycle would restore the connection to the Net again. That doesn't seem to happen with the .47 firmware any more though. Cheers. |
