| [BOINC] Why Does BOINC Need Constant Connection?
Just started again since BOINC seems to have most of the bugs worked out. Everything is running great, thanks Sat_Man for the help with optimizing the client! My question is, why does the BOINC manager seem to need constant connection to the internet? ZA is reporting that it is connecting almost non-stop. I have the optimized clients now running on three boxes, but am hesitant to install on my main machine. Is this normal? And if so, why? I have a 5 day cache loaded.
Thanks for any help!!:D -- Join Team Discovery, make a difference. |

| You don't need a constant connection. In Boinc manager, under the commands menu, you can set the network connection to always available, based on preferences, or suspended. If based on preferences, you control that via your boinc profile. -- Xaak Xaak Consulting, LLC |
