Come on, surely it is just another try at raising interest. If there is enough interest then they will get FREE articles in the printed media. Why would they want to pay $$$ when they can simply heat up the interest about it.

said by deadmeat :How can it be completed if it's to be released in 6-8 months? big difference b/w a game's code being done and the game going gold. the code is completed, but they still need to balance the MP, fix bugs, get the videos, etc before the game goes gold, which takes another 3 weeks to a 3 months for the publisher to get the games on shelves. they'll probably run a closed beta of some sort for 2-3 months while fixing the bugs

| S.T.A.L.K.E.R World is reporting that GSC Gameworld has completed STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl - the game should be released in 6-8 months, after it will be tested and balanced. The final build contains the full storyline, quests, 20 levels and all of the features. The only thing missing are the videos, but they will be made by THQ.
