I'm surprised that SunRocket doesn't re-route fax calls to the carriers they have that do support T.38
As a retail provider I'd assume that they would want to have the highest possible level of quality for their users. |

1 edit | reply to YOUR_UGLY_VT said by YOUR_UGLY_VT :SunRocket supports T.38 Faxing and you get a free Signature number and can be used just for faxing also. Come on now, there was recently a post with a SR rep admitting they were having trouble with it and are not actively selling it as a feature per se.
Edit to add SR reply...
Bernadeth Joyce Lozada: Faxing remains an issue for SunRocket. At this time, it is does not perform on a consistent basis, and firmware upgrades are not providing the solution. We have stopped marketing fax as a feature we offer due to these problems. Our engineering team is researching a fix. I apologize for this inconvenience -- Make a Difference-Join Team Helix! |

| reply to bbrlogue said by bbrlogue :It's not clear which is more important to you, receiving fax or sending fax? If you care more about incoming... To answer your questions, I do both incoming and outgoing. As far as volume, it really varies. In some case I'm only sending out 5 in a month and receive 10. Or like last month, I sent out like nearly 40 and received close to 60 I think. That was the mean reason why I was mainly looking for something with a flat fee. Myfax.com seems to fit for me and it has been really useful and simple. |

1 edit | reply to ac_crusade That seems like standard pre-paid stuff to me. I admit the $0.15/page is high. But for my volume (a few pages every other month) it works well. Also, I have yet to receive a spam fax.
Do you have a better option for someone in my situation? |

| reply to JonR800 send2fax?
add Set Up Fee $4.95 PLUS Prepaid Fee $20.00 PLUS $0.15 PER PAGE , be it sent or received (spamfaxes from England)....
And then there is: A $5 balance MUST be maintained. Each time your balance falls below $5.00 Send2Fax will charge your credit card $20.00 to refill your account.
what a joke! |

| reply to ac_crusade said by ac_crusade :1. I've already given my fax number to several friends and a company that I receive faxes from every once in a while. 2. I really like my number. 3. The local number is very useful for people around my area. It's not clear which is more important to you, receiving fax or sending fax? If you care more about incoming...
I use CallWave. For $3.95 a month, I get: • a local phone number with voicemail (with toll free portal number for checking messages away from home) •a local fax number (PDF is readable via email or software below) •configurable VM with SMS or email notification, attachment, etc. • Internet Answering Machine software that: - displays caller ID with name - instantly shows who's calling your home (anywhere you are, on the road, in the office, etc) - stores VM messages for instant retrieval on your computer - stores incoming FAX for reading/print from your computer - logs all incoming calls to your home number
No need to login on the Web as my VM messages, faxes, and incoming call logs are there on my laptop and home computer.
To set it up, I simply set my Lingo line to simultaneously ring the Callwave phone number. I turned off VM on Lingo, so CW would take messages.
I also really like my Callwave Fax number. xxx-xxx-4343.
Callwave has a free trial period, and it also has different service levels (e.g, pick up incoming call to your house from your laptop). It can be associated with any phone numbers (even your cell phone).
I'm sounding like a CW sales rep (I'm not), but oh well, it's made my VOIP line so much more useful.
For sending fax from home, I keep an account with PinCity. |

| reply to jameskirk0 said by jameskirk0 :if you get a SIPURA, Grandstream that support T.38 you can hook it up to FreeDigits and pay their .03 cents per minute outbound. Tried many times Sipura and other adapters that support T.38. not working well, less than 50% chance to send out fax. Even when it reports successfully sent fax, but recipient side quality is horrible, many missing lines. |

They give you a free fax number for inbound which comes as a PDF.
I trust me 10 year old fax machine for outbound as well. The other stuff is crude compared to it |

| reply to joako I just signed up for fax1 and sent a test fax (a pdf file) and it went through fine. I sent efax an email to switch my account back to the free "receive only" status. What I like about fax1 is that it is "pay as you go". 99% of my faxing (and it's once or twice a month and only a couple of pages) is outbound... |

Something like 11cents/page and that's it. They also have software so you can fax from any appliction (Like the faxing inbuilt to Windows) -- Am Heimcomputer sitz' ich hier, und programmier' die Zukunft mir |

| reply to punkybrewster I tried a lot of outbound fax services that allow you to fax by sending it to an email address like number@domain.com. I did the scanner thing for a while and it sucked. I always end up going back to my trusty 10 year old fax machine for outbound. I'd love to have the freedigits service if they let me use my fax machine for outbound. What's the ATA cost... What model please!? |
