Many free fax in phone numbers are available.
but it is very hard to find free (or pay per use) fax out (or email 2 fax) service .

Something like 11cents/page and that's it. They also have software so you can fax from any appliction (Like the faxing inbuilt to Windows)

 I just signed up for fax1 and sent a test fax (a pdf file) and it went through fine. I sent efax an email to switch my account back to the free "receive only" status. What I like about fax1 is that it is "pay as you go". 99% of my faxing (and it's once or twice a month and only a couple of pages) is outbound...
