BT for me..

If I was a rogers client, I'd be on the phone every 20 mins complaining about the shi*ty service..

Has anyone affected by this actually compalined (formally) to them?

You purchase a connection the internet, if they're blocking some services and/or usages, then you SHOULD also be entitled to a lowered bill.

What would you say to them on the phone?

"Hello, I'm unable to illegally download copyrighted material via BT using your service"

I know there are legitimate uses for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if 99% of BT traffic is illegal. No wonder they're blocking it.

You remind them that downloading porn is not against the law.

They are hindering your freedom of speech by disallowing access to full dvdrips of porno via BT.

But those DVD rips are probably copyrighted...

99.99999% of porn is not copyrighted. It costs too much money for little to no benefit.

WRONG. Do you know anything about how a copyright works? Go learn about it before you post.

It doesn't cost any money to copyright something. Actually, any work you create is automatically copyrighted. That means nearly all porn is copyrighted.

I can understand what you are saying. You are going on the automatic copyright on something that is produced as long as it is an original work. As far as cost is concerned, I was talking about "registered" copyrights.

I believe that since 99% of porn is the same, that it has no copyright. That 1 gonzo film does not differ from another, in my opinion.

The main question is: Does porno pass the originality test?

I say that it does not. If it did, anyone that owns a copyright could minimally change the product to maintain the copyright forever. I think that is why all movie remakes and covers done by bands are significantly different than the original work.

They are trying to restrict your freedom which is why most of ya won't like that. It's your rights infringement?

not sure how the topic got about porn, but as for the bitt torrent

try changing your ports, seems Rogers throttled the port, not the packet, meaning that a new port means new speeds.

I work for the enemy unfort. The enemy being Sympatico. So I know a bit about throttling and how it is done.

I only use Rogers because I know of the problems with Sympatico

Either way, throttling is ports, change your port, fix your problem. Worked for me at least.
