| reply to fegul fegul was kind enough to PM me the link so I could test Kaspersky Personal Pro 4.5.095 with Extended bases, set to FULL ON(like I always have it running)...
Access Denied before I could choose a folder to save it to! Kaspersky didn't like that zip one bit!

| reply to fegul For those curious, Insder 's "virus pack" has 593 viruses in it.
NOD32 caught 590 and prevented the zipped viruses from downloading
KAV didnt catch the viruses as the zip was downloading, but it picked up 587 after I told it to scan the zip. (I even browsed the zipped viruses and KAV didnt catch it) -- |Networking Help|My Blog|Fegul.com

| reply to Insder hehe, sorry about that, I'll edit that Yes, it is strange that "Leave" is the only option. Right now, I set a rule to delete ALL reported viruses and it seems to work, but i'd rather have a prompt -- |Networking Help|My Blog|Fegul.com| |

| reply to fegul Haha, you linked to the wrong person, but no harm done. My name would be Insder, sans the I, but everyone makes that mistake. It does seem odd that that's the only option NOD32 gives.. -- The one, the only, the Insder. :: Verizon Online DSL (2793/719) and Deer Alpha Firefox! |

1 edit | reply to wxboss Insder gave me a link to some 593 viruses which is great. Most AV's can already pick up eicar's viruses since they've been widely used. I'm testing NOD right now -- |Networking Help|My Blog|Fegul.com

Or leave the OS unpatched and go to warez, pr0n, and seemingly legitimate *.biz websites. |

| Yes, you read the title correctly. I'm using VMware to test NOD32 and other AV's to see which ones I like the best since I may or may not use KAV on my laptop once I buy it.
However, I'm wondering where I can download viruses and other forms of malware that I can test the AV's on myself. The current reviews for AV's dont do much for me since I want to play with the program itself and simulate virus contractions.
Are there any "virus-packs" or something that I can use to test it with? -- |Networking Help|My Blog|Fegul.com
