.edu connections are supposed to be used for EDUCATIONAL research and internet use. The fact that you are using P2P on their network, makes them a possible accessory to Copyright Infringement. They don't want to be paying a hefty fee for one user.

I am on a edu LAN and I can connect to hubs actively using any port, but the download speed it GREATLY ruduced to only 0.5 Kb/s ! When I go passive, I can download just fine. When I am active I can search, and I get more results, but the speed is killing me.

Do you know what is going on here, or what I can check on my netowrk to see how I can get around this?
