| [XP Pro] Dos boot utility disk.
I have spinrite from grc.com It uses freedos.
A tech support rep said since I was using xp pro. If I booted to a utility cd that used dos I would corrupt my xp pro software, And that ntfs would prevent the utility that used dos from working correctly.
Is this true ? |

| First of all, booting from a DOS disk that doesn't support NTFS won't corrupt your hard drive, it just won't be able to access it.
But, Spinrite 6.0 supports NTFS: "SpinRite is able to operate on all Windows XP NTFS formats, all DOS FAT, all Linux file systems, Novell, Macintosh (if temporarily moved into a PC) or anything else..."
Also... you can get boot disks that support NTFS here: »www.bootdisk.com/ntfs.htm And there are other methods. |

Is that the answer you seek?
