Right, the slowdowns seem to appear during peak hours, and go back to normal speeds during offpeak hours (similar to cable). The main reason I got DSL in the first place was to avoid this issue, so it's a bit troubling that recently SBC DSL appears to suffer from this problem. |

After get back from work around 8PM, I have no connectivity at all. Router PPPoE takes forever to Authenticate and once authenticated, SLOW or no internet.
Now seems everything back to normal. I'm in Newark, CA
My speed dropped too -- ^^--sign here |

| reply to zippy fast It's nearly 9pm and my speeds have dropped down to the 120K range, this is bizarre. In the 2+ years I have had Expert +, it has never been below the 580-600K range, except when my phone line was torn off the pole during a storm. I really don't see much help in calling SBC just yet, there is never a problem with the line on their end. (This is the canned response I got when my phone line was laying on the street last winter!) Hopefully some of the techs who hang around here can offer some insight as to the multitude of problems in the Bay Area. |
