[Equipment] Source for cheap SPA-3000

Last Friday I happened to be browsing through buy.com, and did a product search for "SPA-3000." I was rather surprised by what I found, at $69.95 and free shipping they are a LOT cheaper than the next lowest price I could find. ($86.95 at Voxilla.) I even took the "$25 off with new buy.com credit card" bait, which knocked the price down to $44.95.

The product description doesn't say "Sipura" anywhere in it, but the unit arrived today and it is most definitely an SPA-3000.

Aw, man! I saw this a few days ago and didn't realize I need a 3000. Now I have Asterisk running and am getting this all figured out. Anyone know a good source that has them in stock?

eCost has it for $69.99, but they charge $1.99 S&H and a whopping $6.50 HANDLING FEE. That brings the total to $78.48 .

I still don't understand why people are bidding around $100 for the SPA-3000 on eBay. Is the lack of used and cheap units because of demand, or a Dr. Evil price-fixing conspiracy?

I am very happy with mine but I am thinking I should buy a backup. Thanks for the links.

Probably they don't know any better. After all, it's pretty hard to find a SPA-3000 in the stores!

But (as this thread shows) you can get SPA-3000's from some mail order places for decent prices. In addition to the places already mentioned, there is the old standby Voxilla.com ( »store.voxilla.com/customer/produ···8&page=1 ). While Voxilla (where I bought my SPA-3000 from btw), is a few dollars more than some of the other places mentioned (currently $86.95 for the SPA-3000), the extra cost may be less than you think (because the Voxilla price for the adapter appears to include "free shipping", whereas some of the other places charge you for shipping)...

Unfortunately, Voxilla's free shipping policy ended on February 1st.

It's worth pointing out that they do sweeten the deal with a free unlimited month of both Broadvoice and VoicePulse, with activation charges waived. For anybody planning to sign up with either company, it's a great way to go.

Voxilla is great, but if you are in california it's almost always cheaper to order from out of state to avoid sales tax. I don't know if the Voxilla folks will let you pick up stuff locally - that might offset the tax if you don't have to pay for shipping and live in the SF Bay area...

Thanks,
Mike

I ordered an SPA-3000 from ecost. Yesterday they said it was backordered. Today they say it's cancelled. Ugh This thing is hard to find!

You might want to look here. I am also looking
for one of these for a cheap price.

Same price as Voxilla with more expensive shipping I think. How come these suddenly got more expensive??

Zingotel has a deal to get one if you sign up for service. Then cancel, pay the additional cost and keep the hardware. I think it comes out to around $70 when you're done. But you have to deal with customer support of course, and I don't know if it's locked.

I'm still looking around.

Well, the $71.95 link says "product doesn't exist." This place does have it for $73.88, $9.99 shipping, 531 in stock. So long as you feel comfortable buying from somewhere called "randomsource.com." Makes me happy I got mine for $45, shipped free.

That message appeared shortly after I posted the link. Maybe BBR members bought all their inventory?

Froogle gives that vendor a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on 75 reviews. The reviews are there for anyone to read.

We're not all as lucky as you. You even have a problem-free BroadVoice line!

Yes, they do have pretty good reviews. What an awful name for a company though.

Yep...I must be living right, and the VoIP gods smile down upon me! Seems like I'm the ONE guy who has consistently had great success with BV. OTOH, I'm practically the only person who had a bad experience with VoicePulse. Go figure.

Crap. Randomsource.com charged my card last Thursday, but I can't get any more info out of them. They answer their phone with a message that they are now a completely web based business and I should e-mail them, which I've done repeatedly with no response. Looks like I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company now. What a drag - I really need to get an SPA-3000!

Did you hear from this company? I am also looking for a SPA-3000, and this is the best price that I can find. I
don't want to do bussines with them if you did not get
what you paid for. Thanks! for your reply.
