| HSE Ultra questions
I ordered HSE Ultra and my activation date is tomorrow(25th). I was just wondering when they usually activate it? Is it at midnight, or sometime during the activation day buisness hours? Also, I was looking thru some posts and saw that some people were charged 69.95 activation fees. I signed up for the no contract service on bell's website and it did not mention any kind of activation fees. Will I be charged for it? |

| usually takes about 3 days from the time that you request the ultra service, and would take up to midnight on that particular day.
as for being charged - its something you need to call the business office about, they will be able to give you a proper response rather than people here who have no access to your billing information.
310-SURF, select english, then option 2 for the business office. |

| reply to skillton It can be activated anytime. You can follow the set up instructions & set up the modem & filters then wait for the DSL/Sync light to come on indicating the service is set up. If for some reason the light doesn't come on tech support can't do anything till after midnight of the activation date.
I think the $69.95 being mention is the lease fee for the home networking modem/router (now $79.95). With the Ultra service you get this option for free if you want it. Some have been billed the fee in error. Also I don't think they have an option to 0 price it so even if it's free it shows on your account then they give an equal credit to cancel the charge. -- P4 2.8 800 fsb, Asus P4P800 MoBo w/1Gig PC3200 RAM, 256 Meg GeForce 5600, Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer, DVD-Rom/CD-R Burner & LG Duel layer DVD Burner, 2x 120 Gig Hard Drives |

| reply to skillton ok, thanks guys. I've already installed the modem and filters within 10 mins of the mailman delivering it Modem hasn't sync'ed yet... Does this mean they haven't installed a line card at the other end? I just get the power light, no other lights flashing or on unless I connect the network cable and the ethernet light goes on |

1 edit | If the modem is properly connected to the phone line without it having a filter on the cord to it.. And the DSL light doesn't come on, then this means the LineCard hasn't been installed (Yes) -- Sympatico HighSpeed Ultra (5Meg) - Download @ 556 KBs/Sec - Upload @ 85 KBs/Sec |

| reply to skillton I was or still am on DSL Lite, and I ordered High Speed service last Tuesday. On Friday I rang 310-surf and there was an auto message indicating my DSL High speed is scheduled activation date for Jan 23 by midnight.
Nothing came on 23rd, so I rang this morning and 310-surf had no clue what was going on or as to why it was not done. Switched me to level 1 who took my info and told me my she will put my work order today and it should be done today. It's now 11:45pm and I am still on Lite speed. -- 01010101 |

1 edit | reply to skillton It was activated before I woke up(10am) I was getting horrible line stats and my modem would get disconnected, as well as getting lots of packet loss. I disconnected all the phones in the house to make sure they weren't the problem, but it didn't fix it. I'm using the jack bell installed outside to diagnose internal wiring problems, and my connection is fine, it syncs at 5000/800 and i'm getting 4200/660 speeds. The pings are good too, but the line stats show some errors. The SNR is 10-13 and the atten. is 38.5 I'm going to try and figure out the inside wiring problem. Bell would charge me to fix it right? |
