The firmware upgrade has to be obtained from the ISP. Call up tech support for your ISP and see if they will send you a copy of the latest firmware by email.
Verizon Online just released a few updates for some models of Westell modems as mentioned in the VOL forum but they will only work with Verizon issued modems.
As for turning off ping, look under Services and see if you can find anything there. Ping is also ICMP (0) so if you turn that off, ping is turned off too as they are the same thing just different names.

@rr.com | ICMP is listed in the list of services. When I add it to the list of of active forwards it shows up, but does not provide me with any way to configure it.
Pinging the WAN IP still returns a response.
Any thoughts? |
