Re: Unable to access 327w config via 198.162.1.1

You rock!!! I did not consider the distinction between repeating and routing. I followed your directions, got to the configuration page, and adjusted the settings in accordance with an earlier post I found at »Re: Using Westell 327w as a wired switch/wireless AP. Thanks to you I now have wireless internet. I assume I will have to use your manual IP trick anytime in the future to access my 327W config page. Is there any other check you recommend I do to confirm that I have configured correctly?

Sorry, wrong number.

24.113.32.60 is probably your ISP's router. It belongs to Wave Broadband - are they your ISP?

Here is my best guess:

You are not using your 327w as a wireless router. You might be using it as a wireless access point. It is acting as a wireless repeater to connect you to your cable modem, but isn't doing any routing.

If you want to get to the configuration page of the 327w, try this:

(1) manually configure your computer IP address to 192.168.1.50
(2) browse to "http://192.168.1.1"

When finished with accessing the modem, configure your computer back to "get an IP address automatically".

Worked like a champ! It is »24.113.32.60. I get a page called FastFlow Broadband Provisioning Manager by Bigband Networks and am now stymied by the CSR login and password. I tried "admin/password" and "admin/admin" which I have seen in other posts, to no avail. I assume this is proprietarial firmware loaded by the service provider (Verizon)? I no longer have a Verizon account and can't expect tech support from them. Know of anyway to reset to a factory configuration or any other default login/passwords? Thanks again!

The IP used by the modem/router is reconfigurable, although I haven't heard of verizon changing it.

Use "ipconfig /all" from the command line (I assume you are running a recent windows system). Look for the gateway address. That will be the ip of your 327W. Use that to try connecting to it.

You are correct. I mistyped in my post but checked again that I was using the correct IP as you pointed out. The problem remains the same. Any ideas. Thanks.

You might have a mispelling error (or should I call that "misnumbering").

Try http://192.168.1.1/

I am attempting to use my 327W as a wireless router only and to disable the DSL features. I think I have found the proper configuration settings in an earlier post. I understand that I should be able to change the setting by going to »198.162.1.1. However, my browser gives me the standard "The page cannot be displayed" when I try to go there. The 327W is currently routing ethernet bewtween my computer and cable modem so there doesn't appear to be a physical connection problem. Is it possible the config IP was changed by Verizon? Anybody know any alternate config IPs or any way to reset it to the factory settings?
