Re: What 19'' LCD monitors do you folks recommend?

I recently bought a Samsung 930B, which is the same display as yours but has a different base. (Mine is fixed height and doesn't swivel, but that's ok since it sits stationary on my desk).

I also had to turn down the brightness.. I have mine running at around 65% with further tweaking done with the video driver. I agree - text is very crisp and color reproduction is excellent. I occasionally play UT2004 among other things and have had no issues at all - I often forget it's an LCD. VGA and DVI input (switchable with the press of one button - nice!) is a great feature as I use it to switch between my desktop PC and my laptop when it's home.

I also run a lot of demos (ASD, Plastic, Farbrausch, Sector Omega, etc). These generally run 800x600 or 1024x768. I've set my card to let the monitor scale non-native resolutions. The scaling is as good as I've seen on any LCD.

Among the many high quality LCD displays out there, this is one of the best.

I jumped on the Samsung SyncMaster 940B. It's very bright (I had to turn it down to 50% illumines), and clear. Has an 8ms B/W/B refresh rate, and a 700:1 contrast ratio. Text is very crisp. It also has support for VGA, and DVI. The monitor is rated as an SXGA device, so you shouldn't have a problem with your video card.

I've played all of my games with it so far, and there hasn't been a problem. I'm currently playing BF2, and Flying Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. I also still play Home World 2 (which looks beautiful on this thing), and COD2.

It's not the least or most expensive - so at $330 from newegg.com you can't go wrong.

Nope, it's just me.
