TKI @cpe.net.cable.rogers | Are they throttling port 1720 and 1755 now? My speeds have dropped really bad in azureus with port 1720 and port 1755. anyone else getting slow speed with these ports now? just started happening today. |
 | I'm getting the same thing here in Newfoundland. |
 | yeh speeds are slow again... i'm in Toronto on rogers....
Someone find the open ports! plz! |
TKI @cpe.net.cable.rogers | reply to TKI this really sucks, might have to switch to bell now. |
 | reply to TKI My speeds have dropped off too. I guess it's time to jump over to Bell. |
TKI @cpe.net.cable.rogers | reply to TKI this is really making me furious, i cant believe they've decided to throttle port 1720, isn't that the port for voip? are there any other ports we can use? |
 | reply to liljigga123 I am at work right now so cant comment on my own but 2 friends have reported their speeds have dropped off as well. East end of toronto. |
 | reply to TKI Oh well back to BitComet with the header encryption for now... anyone know if i can get out of my 2 year contract because of this or the upcoming rate hike? Not to mention loss of newsgroups! |

 | reply to TKI I also experienced slow down in bt speed.. scarborough area. btw how well does bitcomet's encryption help? |
 | reply to TKI not alot... before i knew about port 1720 i used to get maybe 30-50k/s (down from 200+ pre-trottling)... right now i'm only getting 10k/s but i only have 1 torrent going. I think it went best before with a bunch going the same time. It only works when the sender also has BitComet. |

 | reply to TKI Well as of this morning, my speeds have been bad on port 1720..using 3web (rogers). Yonge + Lawrence area. |
 | My speeds are non-existant now. I was hoping it was an issue with my ports, but I guess those bastards have blocked the ports. I have no other alternative to Rogers in my area, so I really hope someone comes up with a way around it. |
 | reply to TKI My BT was still going pretty good b4 I went to bed last night. Today, it get down to below 5 kb/s. I guess ... they have really blocked up port 1720 for BT traffic. |
 | alright just got home, and looks like im getting blocked as well. Using Bitcomet on port 1720 with encryption set to always and speeds wont go above 5 - 10 kb/s
yonge and lawrence area. |

Sheppard - Kennedy area |

 | reply to TKI I don't think it's just areas where they don't have VOIP subscribers - I'm at Danforth and Broadview and I'd be very surprised if there wasn't any VOIP in this area.
And, yes, my BTs suck huge today as well. -- Therapy is expensive. Bubble wrap is free. |
 | well i guess they found a way of blocking BT on 1720 without hurtin the VOIP
im calling bell on monday. |
