1 edit | Torrent Speed Fix
»torrentfreak.com/encrypting-bitt···shapers/ check this out, then grab utorrent beta 1.4.1
next goto other options in utorrent then encryption.
I found enable works best, where as enable (always) slowed me down a bit.
but I also havn't had much time to test. so far, 3.0 KB/S download, is goin, 20KB/S |

@cable.rogers | I tried the utorrent beta but that didn't work too well for me. Right now Im using the Azureus beta and getting around 10-20 kb/s. |

| reply to gdogg dont think these beta's will work too good right now seeing as 99% of people are using the stable versions of azureus/utorrent, when the official new versions come out then you can expect to see lots of speed with the increase with the encryption i think. so we'll just have to wait i guess. |

@cable.rogers
| I switched to uTorrent's beta over the weekend and noticed speed improvements on heavily seeded torrents (ie. 2000+ seeders). I guess that's because the odds are better with users using the latest beta.
ATM, it will not work for everyone until adopted by more users as others have suggested in this thread. It would be in everyone's best interest if you start using the new client and "enable" encryption. Also to ensure backward compatibility with clients other than Azureus Beta and uTorrent Beta, leave the "Allow legacy incoming connections" enabled, and do not select "Enabled. always" because then other clients will not be able to download from you. |

@cable.rogers | reply to sm00nie To answer sm00nie's question, I think the port is irrelevant at this point. Although I use (alternate between) ports 1720/1755. |

| reply to gdogg uTorrent encryption works!!
I had started to seed some torrents knowing they probably wont go anywhere, when behold one torrent is seeding at almost 70kb/s. I check the peers and I find a fellow rogers user downloading.
uTorrent 1.4.1 Beta
Settings used - Port 53388 (randomly chosen), Protocol Encryption = Enabled + Allow Legacy

from this i believe that this is gonna work as long as we can get more people setting their client to use encryption |

1 edit | I'm glad to hear you have found a way to make torrents work.
It still pisses me off that Rogers is throttling bandwidth though. How and when we use this internet connection is up to us. We are paying for it. Luckily, I havent been affected by BT throttling yet, but the minute I am, Rogers will lose me as a customer. An average month of traffic for me is about 10-15 GB. I'm nowhere near their maximum.

| reply to gdogg that screenshot is awesome because it shows that encryption just might work, the rogers guy has the U E(ncryption) flag and the transfer looks good.. if we rogers users all band together and download the latest azureus or utorrent when it comes out and turn on encryption everything should be smooth sailing. |
