:Yes they can, I am just fed up with my kid's Elementary school for teaching Social Studies, Geography, Algebra, Health, Etc. before my kids know their times tables and can write complete sentences without being verbally scolded to do so. I guess I am old school, I expect them to know the basics before they learn how cranberries are grown and how cells are structured. I see stuff in their textbooks I saw in my college courses, yet the kids can't read their own sentence and realize it makes no sense.
Sorry for ranting LOL
Kids don't write complete sentences because they don't feel like writing them out all the way since they usually have tons to write. It's not because they're not able to. If you know you have 30 spelling words to write 3 times, you don't want to waste your wrist writing every sentence completely. Don't you remember what it was like to be a kid?
