The FCC stayed out of the way of the cable companies and they deployed broadband. The FCC stayed out of the way of Verizon they deployed FIOS. Every time the government "plans" something like this it always fubars it. Please FCC... stay out of the broadband racket!

| Whatever happened to Michael Powell? Whereas his dad is and was the real deal, the younger Powell who somehow snared the FCC job in the beginning of the reign of the Bush Crime Family was a pufferbilly -- big satin tie and all. Gitdown on your knees, pontificate, pontificate, pontificate. He moved on when his father declined to further the aims of the Crime family. But the sleaze/crony act continues. No Plan for Broadband and definitely no plan for global warming! |

|   Yur right -- I waz wrong about the initial appointment; but Bush the younger did confirm the Chairmanship of FCC upon Michael [good synopsis in Wikipedia]. Admirable personal story ; unfortunately for Americus, the sleaze game was afoot at the FCC, probably with or without Powell; in many ways the writing was on the wall in 1996 with the Telecommunications Act--Tozan, clearly one of the most corrupt politicos ever to walk thru the revolving doors, was a big sponsor IIRC. By all means, bring on Rove/Rumsfeld in 2008 -- let the streets flow bigtime, with the 'right stuff.' Thanks for your interest.:) |
