Don't forget about what they did to Gamecube's online strategy... They released the online adapters for them, then never supported them and scrapped the idea of online gaming.
Other than that... I think they are doing the right thing keeping up with the PSP. -- I will find the center in you, I will chew it up and leave. I will elevate you, just enough to bring you down. Maynard James Keenan |

Er, the PSP is far behind the DS you know in overall sales currently. To put it bluntly, Nintendo has a lot to be happy about with their sales currently on the DS. (Insert obligatory Nintendo DS "It prints money photo.") That isn't to say the PSP won't do well or catch up in sales ever; it has a strong following and it should grow this coming year as Sony will (hopefully) push for more games on it instead of just movies. However, if Nintendo can keep this rage about the DS going and growing and move it on to the Revolution... |

In Europe the PSP sold over 66k units and the DS sold over 84k. In the U.S. the PSP sold over 3.6 million units and the DS sold more than 2.8 million units (probably more as I don't have Dec. 05' numbers).
Considering the DS was released about five months before the PSP and Nintendo has a solid history in the mobile gaming market I would say that Sony didn't do too bad at all. The DS might be outselling the PSP, but it's nowhere near "wiping the floor" levels. |
