Re: MS Antispyware Is Now Windows Defender

They took all the cool graphics out, and made it all Microsoftable looking.

Those who ponder on what must be under the hood of this product will realize that graphics are the least of what had to be changed to make it a Microsoft Product.

Yunk is all I can say!

What in the world is Microsoft smoking?

Windows Defender is missing a lot of options that Microsoft Anti spyware has. And is ugly.

Seems like they down graded instead of up grading.

I am sticking with Microsoft Antispyware for now. Windows Defender looks like crap.

Windows One care will be the All-In-One product, this has been stripped of most of the goodies for that reason.

Why is it that when I add something to the Registry like the blocklist Microsoft AntiSpyware would pop up asking me to allow or block but with this new Microsoft Defender nothing pops up.

I think I could get used to the way it looks but will it protect me as good as Microsoft AntiSpyware?

This may sound funny but I am strating to like it. It starts up very fast and the interface is very easy to use.

The only thing I am worried about is if it will do just as good or better of a job at protecting my pc then Microsoft Antispyware.

I guess people will be testing both of them.

I 100% agree. And I don't like the SpyNet thing.

Agreed.
Installed Windows Defender, saw: only automatic updates
(that must be a joke - MS programmers are still
laughing loud), no real selection of tools, uninstalled,
went back to Beta 1.
Hope they will do something much better.

Unknown changes are now are not alerted on - only things that are known to be bad are alerted on. You can of course turn on alerting on "unknown" changes too. It's in your General Settings right after all those real time protection agents...
