OK, I'll give it a shot. •Setup your computer as a DHCP client. Check TCP/IP Settings, and make sure "Assign an address automatically" is selected. •Power your computer off. •Install the router, and give it power. •Connect an Ethernet cable to the router, and to your computer. •Power your computer on. •When your computer comes up, it should have an IP address, and a default gateway. Run "ipconfig" from a command window, and note the default gateway. That's the address of the router LAN connection. •Type the address of the router LAN connection into the browser address window, run the router configuration program, and make all the necessary changes. •You do still have to read the manual that came with the router. It should include a section on using the browser interface, in addition to a section on installing the unneeded router control software. It will tell you the account / password needed for accessing the setup program thru your browser.
Read the cited articles discussing the many settings that you will have to make. The router manual will probably list each one; depending upon the amount of content there, these articles may complement, or may supplement that. »nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/11/s···lan.html »nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/s···ect.html »Wireless Security
