| Wouldn't you rather go for FIOS? Its just as fast (DL) and faster (UL) for less $. That is assuming FIOS is available where you live. I'm sure these speeds are only being offered where Verizon FIOS is available.
And Comcast said they weren't worried about FIOS. :D |

A similar speed with a current provider will keep most people from switching honestly. My friend used to have Surewest fiber. His pings were amazingly low. He could ping from San Francisco to Dallas at about 20 ms. Try that with your comcast. |

1 edit | reply to jaynice Well, if anyone in the rollout area is using a Linksys BEFCMU10 v4, it will give most of the same info as using Docsdiag, except for Config file.

| reply to MrChupacabra ah well at least Comcast for the most part doesn't cherrypick as where to provide service...the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has let Verizon give them the business and not even gotten a reacharound -- I wasn't born with enough middle fingers. |

1 edit | Ha.
When Comcast upgraded the last time, I found it interesting all the other counties in Md, seemed go get the speed increases before Mongomery County got thiers.
Now that FIOS is being deployed here as fast as they can; I can only presume the same thing is going to occur as to the 16/1 rates some folks in Va. are getting via Comcast.
Me, I doubt my connection will ever see the 16/1 or above connection from Comcast and further, I doubt I'll really care.
Oh boo woo... can someone please get me some tissues so I can blow my nose and dry my eyes because I'm laughing so hard?:D |

My point though is the latency of fiber connections rival that of other kinds. |
