It'd be 55.95 total(52.95 for gold, + $3 rental fee) for the gold tier unless they decide to boost the silver speed as well this time around.

CA was last because they were on old ATTBI equipment and not on the CRAN. itll be a lot easier this time around.
Naaa, it was done like that so that I could have 8Mb speeds before dadkins. Yeah that's it.

My source tells me that it depends on how this is accepted in Reston.Va if they roll this out in other areas.:)
I hope they roll it out in my market, I'm eager to get some more upstream and downstream!

Looks like you were right TD!

Nothing but love for ya man

I'll talk to some of my friends over in the engineering groups, I'm sure at least one of them has a friend that can put you on 1bit up and down for a day or two.

but fios is pppoe. pppoe sucks because your ip changes each time you log in and its very easily interupted. theyre switching to dhcp soon but until then i prefer the reliability of my comcast cable and its nearly static ip.
But why would you ever logout? The router handles the PPPOE login and never drops the connection.

except it does drop the connection. when you log in like PPPoE does, the slighest interfearence on the line causes a disconnect. router or not. not worth it for me at least until they make their DHCP switch.

Re: [Speed] Reston, Va 16Mb down/1Mb up confirmed.

When I spoke to a csr at Comcast tonight about the upgrade, she mentioned (of course) Reston,Va. to see how well it works with CDV. Then she said In. and Mi. next. FWIW.

So basically the only reason they are testing to see if the new speeds are"compatible" with CDV? Sounds like bs to me! I think its rather a fear of the systems may not have the proper hardware to handle all of those simultaneous connections.

I agree about the BS. Just passing along what they told me. I could probably get 5 different answers if I called 5 more times.
