said by voyager6868 :You pay $45/month just for a dial tone and still have to pay 10 cents per minute for Local calls??? That's just crazy. Why don't you get VOIP? I have zipglobal and it's 2 cents a minute for anywhere in US/Canada and $3/month. It's gone out like once in the past year. Trust me I have VoIP! I use Broadvoice as my primary phone and it never runs me more than $20. The landline is just there for emergencies. -- Now THATS superfluous!! |

Seriously, nobody in NYC would do the same - this is the place where you can choose between 3-4 DSL package, at least one cable but in many areas two and countless of VoIP... |

| reply to wifi4milez Couldn't you get some kind of pre-paid cell phone that would cover you for emergencies, or don't they have that kind of thing where you live? Here I can get a cell phone, just for emergencies for $10/month and it gives me about 40 minutes/month.
And the odds of both VOIP and cell phone going down at the same time are quite remote I think, assuming you have reliable providers. |
