3.6.5 You may not use the Broadband Service to host any type of server personal or commercial in nature.
Verizon West (ex-gte) has never enforced that rule.
3.8 Verizon also reserves the right in our sole discretion, with or without notice to you, to modify or restrict the bandwidth available to download content from our Usenet Newsgroup services.
Yes from NEWSGROUPS.... Not from everyday downloading. Verizon does not suspend my account if rack up gigs ofo downloads each day by downloading tv ashows via Bit torrent.
Face it Comcast has caps and verizon and most other dsl dont. As my download does not affect my neighbor unlike cable. |

Everyone shares bandwidth, the point is where at.
FIO's shares with it's neighbors, but it has a 622Mbps download vs 40Mbps (Docis 2.0/1.0)
Cable will be better with DOCIS 3.0 as they can bond many Carriers together. |

(Looks at the SBC forum where there are multiple complaints of a nightly slowdown from all over California.) What is the reason that my DSL modem shows me syncing at 1536 down (the max advertised), yet my speed test shows only ~400kbits/sec throughput? Good line stats (else I wouldn't be able to hold sync at the maximum), maximum sync, but minimum dl speed. And only during peak usage hours. From early morning hours until the afternoon everything is good; but speed goes to hell when the kids start getting home from school, and stays bad until bedtime. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

I cant help it if SBC over sells more than verizon.

| reply to stonecolddsl They all come to a CBB router at some point.
DSL has lower speeds then cable 90% of the time.
Yes you can use your Slower DSL all the time because it's 1/4 to 1/3 the speed of Cable so your not going to impact a network as much.
My point stands everyone shares a pipe at some point. |

SBC is not capping. Maybe they should, if they don't have the network capacity to support full speeds. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
