Down for me too. So much for no outages since September, 2005. |

He mentioned the recently improved reliability in another thread and jinxed it for all of us.;) Just kidding, George. Seriously, I need to fax something now! |

SunRocket is experiencing a service degredation which may cause the loss of the "voice" or "voip" lights on your gizmo. Our engineers are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. |

Tried calling my 973-xxx-xxxx number from a cell phone, went straight to VM (good sign). Next step, logged into SR site. Got right in w/o a problem. Saw the "system degradation" message on their homepage.
Site showed one VM msg. Set up forwarding to my land line (which I keep for 911, TiVo, and times like these). Forwarding active immediately.
For those of you that have dithed land lines altogether, I was able to get super-basic service from Verizon for just under $20 a month, all taxes included. No services, but it serves as my fax/Directv/911 backup line, and even with that cost added to SR fee, I'm still paying half of what I did for MCI's neighborhood plan.
VOIP is still a technology in its infancy, having some backup in place is never a bad thing. Especially true if you have kids in the house and may need 911 some day. |
