1 edit | [Extreme] Secret to getting the 5->6mb upgrade?
Alright, I've beaten around the bush for a few days now trying to get upgraded from my 5meg profile to a 6meg profile.
I just realized (slow me, i know) that rogers now offers 6000/1000 and 100gb per month for an extra 2$ for extreme users
I was never put on this profile, I'm also using one-bill (consolidated billing).
So i contact rogers, they check, agree that i'm on the 5mb profile, I get transfered from tech support to billing where the billing CSR confirms that "yep, you're now on 6mb, it'll be active in an hour". So i wait, no upgrade after a few hours, next day, still no upgrade. So I call Rogers again, speak to a CSR and get told that it may take 24 hours. So i wait again, still nothing. I contact Rogers again and get this nice guy who actually makes some effort. Contacts billing, talks to a few supervisors who say that my account (Extreme account) on my bill needs to be nuked (removed) and re-added as the new profile (i'm gonna get reamed for this on my bill, I have a bad feeling about it). So finally I talk to a CSR in the consolidated billing who talked to the other CSR in tech support, and everything was done. My old rogers extreme was nuked, new one put in place. CSR told me to wait a bit, so i wait.
And wait... Still nothing. I really don't know what other hoops I can jump through to get this stuff working.
Any advice would be good right about now. |

Nice of them to tell me though, I would have waited. |

| reply to stokkes They upgraded me without asking. Or at least I get connection rates consistent with that service.
I generally find Roger's customer service to be 50-50. I'm having issues with getting digital cable channels that I paid for. If you do change anything, get the person's name that is making the change and then follow-up the next time you phone. |

@cable.rogers | reply to stokkes I had a 5meg download I called and 5 min later I had a 6meg. Cost me $2 more. Why wait call now and have your connection upgraded to the new one. It was free to do and easy and done right than and there for me. |

1 edit | I got it last night... finally
took 5 days, about 7 reps and a few managers.. I have no idea what kind of crackpipe they were toking at when talking to me, but I really couldn't stand it anymore.
I really hate Rogers CSRs, bunch of idiots as far as I'm concerned. Well, maybe idiots is the wrong term, I should say people who don't want to put an effort into helping customers (going the extra mile).
So yeah, they had to nuke my current bundle and re-add all my services to create a new bundle, I'm gonna HATE my next bill ... *** watches a bill come in for 300$ *** |

@cable.rogers | reply to stokkes Wow. Talk about bad luck. When I upgraded to Extreme when they were price matching, they upgraded me from Express to Extreme in less than a minute. Right when I got off the phone with them, I checked Rogers and I had Extreme. |

@cable.rogers | 6000/800 is the Extreme. I never heard of 6000/1000. I think he just made a mistake on his post DayHawk that all. |

Do I have to create some sort of profile on the rogers site or something else? |

Top Right ... Register ... be careful when registering not to opt for online billing. Then use the Sign In link on the »www.rogers.com page.
Then when you're signed in you can click on "View My Internet Usage" ... if you're on the 5Mbps profile, you'll see something like 60,000 odd download limit, and if on the 6Mbps profile it's something like 100,000 odd (Can't remember the exact numbers) |

I wonder when and IF we'll get the rumoured upgrade to 9mbps or whatever it was thats coming soon apprently. I think the 5-6mbps upgrade is a joke, most will never see the difference, but from 6-9 people will. |
