That's great, RL! Very glad to hear that they're acknowledging the problems and hopefully we'll see fixes for both the 4/5 upload issue as well as the evening slowdowns. Thanks for relaying your experience!

Thanks Scapla. The guy did say that we could try to range back to 4/5 (as there was some advantage to that code) at any time. He said if I did to just keep an eye on the errors and if they start climbing again to range back to 2/3. Don't know about you but I'm tempted to stick with what is working for now. I'd sure hate to get back to the 15s.

Like I say, the guy may have been blowing smoke because there is a short window between when you talked to them and this guy. From what I recall your guy said they weren't aware of any probs on AMC9. What was kind of funny is he almost went out of his way not to say evening slowdown. He said "we've gotten a lot of calls between a certain period of time, say 7 p.m. eastern to 11 p.m. eastern", where people on AMC9 1370 have complained of slower speeds. I said "yea, evening slowdown." He said they were working it and he would add my comments to the file. I told him I average a 66% drop in speed from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. (CST), and that it was predicable enough in that window to set a watch by. Hopefully if enough of us continue to let them know... Have a great evening.

I'm missing something. I started getting a slowdown last weekend sometime. I checked my stats and noticed I went from 256k 2/3 to 256k 4/5. Before that time, it would never try 256k 4/5 and for a while 256k 2/3 worked great. Now when I force range it tries 2/3 and 4/5. Both pass and it picks 4/5 as being superior, I guess.
Sounds like I should stick with 2/3. But how do I get it to not try 4/5?
