I don't know what your problem is, and I am not using a DW7000 (yet--got the email saying mine would be delivered within a couple of weeks today), but using my 19 month old DW6000CE with IE6/Maxthon, it took 45 seconds to access and log in to MyEbay.
I then signed out and using Firefox it took about 75 seconds to do the same. Firefox has always been noticeable slower on my systems, even though I have them tweaked as recommended here. The Maxthon front end to IE6 gives me tabbed browsing and some of the other FF features I like without the slowness.
If you haven't already tried it, you might want to try browsing with IE rather than the FF indicated in your sig line to see if it makes any difference. I can log into HTTPS with FF, but as stated, it is slower, and if that is the case with you, it COULD be so slow you are timing out.
